What is the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™?
The Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™ is EXALTxp’s proprietary wellness, longevity, resilience, and performance approach that uses controlled hypoxia (simulated altitude) and infrared heat as targeted hormetic stressors to drive adaptation, recovery, and resilience. Rather than chasing intensity, it focuses on applying the right stimulus at the right time, followed by efficient recovery, to create better results with less effort, in less time.
At its core, the Method trains not just physical performance, but also nervous system regulation and composure under pressure. By teaching the body and mind to stay calm and efficient in challenging environments, it delivers benefits across health, wellness, longevity, performance, and real-world resilience.
How does EXALTxp help me achieve better results, with less effort, in less time?
EXALTxp is built on a different principle: It’s not about doing more, it’s about creating stronger signals for adaptation.
- You Train the Body at the Source
Most training focuses on output. EXALTxp focuses on how your body produces and uses energy.
- Simulated altitude improves oxygen efficiency
- Infrared heat elevates heart rate with lower mechanical load
- Red light therapy enhances cellular energy (mitochondrial function)
This means your body adapts faster and more efficiently, without excessive strain.
- You Create High-Impact, Low-Load Stress
Instead of relying on intensity or volume:
- Hypoxia creates a powerful internal stress signal
- Heat amplifies cardiovascular demand without impact
- Breath and control regulate the nervous system
You get the benefits of hard training… without the wear and tear.
- You Train Adaptation, Not Just Effort
EXALTxp is built around measured stress + rapid recovery.
- Shorter sessions
- Smarter sequencing of modalities
- Built-in recovery through red light therapy
Your body learns to adapt quickly, rather than just endure.
- You Recover Faster, So You Progress Faster
Adaptation only happens when you recover.
- Red light therapy supports repair and regeneration
- Controlled protocols prevent overtraining
- Nervous system regulation reduces burnout
You’re ready to train again sooner, with better results each time.
The Bottom Line
Better results don’t come from more effort. They come from better adaptation.
EXALTxp delivers:
- Stronger physiological signals
- Less physical strain
- Faster recovery cycles
So you can do less, adapt more, and progress faster.

Is EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness safe?
Yes. The EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness System is designed to be safe when used as intended. Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, all modalities, simulated altitude, infrared heat, and red light therapy, are applied in a controlled, measured way to deliver the right level of stress without overwhelming the body.
Sessions are guided by clear protocols that consider intensity, duration, recovery, and individual response, with environmental factors like oxygen levels, temperature, and humidity carefully managed.
What is altitude training (aka hypoxic conditioning) and how does it work?
Altitude training, or hypoxic conditioning, involves reducing oxygen levels to create a controlled physiological stress that stimulates the body to adapt. At EXALTxp , this is done through simulated altitude environments where oxygen is lowered safely and precisely to trigger improvements in oxygen efficiency, energy production, and cellular resilience.
EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness exposes your body to reduced oxygen levels (hypoxia), typically simulating 11%–14% oxygen (oxygen at sea level is about 21%), equivalent to 3,300–5,500 meters or 11,000-18,000 feet at altitude.
Using the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, we apply hypoxia differently to traditional altitude training. Rather than focusing only on output or red blood cell production, EXALTxp uses controlled, measured exposure to train how your body and nervous system respond under stress. This includes improving breathing efficiency, submaximal performance, and your ability to stay calm and composed when oxygen is limited.
The result is a more holistic form of adaptation that enhances not just physical performance, but also nervous system regulation, mental clarity, and emotional resilience, with benefits that transfer directly into everyday life.
EXALTxp studios use “normobaric” hypoxia. What does that mean and how does it prevent altitude sickness?
Normobaric hypoxia means reducing the percentage of oxygen in the air while keeping normal air pressure (unlike natural high-altitude environments where pressure drops). In EXALTxp studios, this is done in a controlled way by lowering oxygen levels to simulate altitude, without changing barometric pressure.
Because air pressure remains stable, the body experiences a more controlled and predictable stress response. This significantly reduces the risk of altitude sickness, which is more commonly associated with rapid changes in pressure and elevation.
Using the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, exposure is carefully dosed and progressively adjusted, allowing the body and nervous system to adapt safely over time. This creates the benefits of altitude training, such as improved oxygen efficiency and resilience, without the same risks associated with traditional high-altitude environments.
How often should I use my EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness Studio to see results?
For most people, using your EXALTxp studio 3–5 times per week delivers strong results. This typically includes a mix of simulated altitude sessions, infrared heat sessions, and recovery-focused use of red light therapy, guided by the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™.
Consistency is key. Early benefits such as improved heart rate response, energy, sleep, metabolism, and nervous system regulation can begin within the first few weeks, while deeper adaptations in cardiovascular efficiency, resilience, and recovery build over time.
The goal is not to use every modality every day, but to apply the right stimulus at the right time, allowing your body to adapt, recover, and perform at a higher level.
Will EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness help me stay focused and steady for long days?
Yes. The EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness System is designed to improve not just physical performance, but how you think, feel, and function under sustained stress. Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, simulated altitude and infrared heat are used to train nervous system regulation, helping you stay calm, focused, and composed even when under pressure.
Over time, this improves mental clarity, reduces fatigue, and enhances your ability to sustain energy and concentration throughout long days. It also builds real-world resilience, so you can stay steady, make better decisions, and perform consistently, whether at work, in training, or in everyday life.
Will EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness help me lose weight?
EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness can support weight loss by improving how your body produces and uses energy, rather than relying on excessive intensity alone. Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, simulated altitude and infrared heat help increase metabolic efficiency, support fat utilisation, and allow you to achieve high cardiovascular demand at lower mechanical load.
At the same time, the system trains nervous system regulation, which can help reduce chronic stress, a key factor in weight gain and poor metabolic health.
While results depend on your overall lifestyle, including nutrition and consistency, EXALTxp provides a more efficient and sustainable way to support fat loss, improve body composition, and build long-term health and resilience.
What happens to my body in a EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness Studio?
Your body responds differently depending on the stimulus being used. Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, each modality is applied with a clear purpose to drive specific adaptations.
Simulated Altitude (Hypoxic Conditioning)
When oxygen levels are reduced, your body is challenged to become more efficient:
- Oxygen delivery and utilisation improve
- Mitochondrial function and energy production increase
- Cardiovascular and respiratory efficiency are enhanced
- Cellular adaptation pathways (like HIF-1α) are activated
- Your nervous system is trained to stay calm and composed under stress
Infrared Heat Training
When your body is exposed to heat, it creates a cardiovascular and thermoregulatory response:
- Heart rate increases at lower workloads
- Plasma volume expands, improving circulation
- Sweating and cooling efficiency improve
- Cardiovascular strain builds with less mechanical stress
- You develop greater tolerance to sustained physical stress
Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)
Red and near-infrared light support recovery and cellular function:
- Mitochondrial activity and cellular energy are supported
- Muscle recovery and tissue repair are enhanced
- Inflammation and soreness may be reduced
- Recovery between sessions becomes more efficient
The combined effect
By separating and sequencing these stimuli, EXALTxp trains not just your body, but how your entire system adapts, regulates, and recovers. The result is improved performance, resilience, and energy, along with better focus, emotional control, and overall wellbeing.
Can EXALTxp help improve my mental health?
Yes. EXALTxp supports mental health by helping regulate your response to stress and rewire your nervous system for calm in real time.
Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, you’re exposed to controlled stress using simulated altitude, infrared heat, and breath-led training, and guided to stay calm and in control.
Over time, this helps:
- reduce stress and anxiety
- improve emotional regulation
- rewire your nervous system for calm
- enhance focus and clarity
- support better sleep and recovery
The result: a more balanced, resilient nervous system and a greater sense of calm in everyday life.
Can EXALTxp help improve my mental toughness?
Yes. But more importantly, it builds composure under stress.
Through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, EXALTxp uses simulated altitude, infrared heat, and breath-led training to place you in controlled stress and teach you how to regulate within it.
You learn to:
- stay calm under pressure
- control your breathing and heart rate
- maintain focus when fatigued
- recover quickly after effort
Over time, this rewires your nervous system to be less reactive and more resilient.
The result: not just mental toughness, but calm, controlled performance in everyday life and when it matters most.
Can EXALTxp help with my sleep?
Yes. When used correctly, EXALTxp can significantly improve sleep quality by targeting one of the most overlooked drivers of poor sleep: nervous system dysregulation.
How EXALTxp Supports Better Sleep
1. Regulates the Nervous System
Many sleep issues stem from being “wired but tired.”
Simulated altitude training (when done with control) teaches your body to stay calm under stress
This helps shift you out of a chronic fight-or-flight state
Over time, your body becomes better at downregulating into rest
2. Improves Recovery Physiology
Quality sleep is driven by how well your body recovers.
Hypoxic training can enhance oxygen efficiency and recovery processes
Infrared heat promotes relaxation and circulation
Red light therapy supports cellular repair and may help regulate circadian rhythms
Together, these create the conditions your body needs to enter deeper, more restorative sleep cycles
3. Supports Circadian Rhythm Alignment
Light exposure and stress both influence your internal clock.
Red light therapy (especially in the evening) can support natural melatonin production
Reduced stress load helps stabilise your sleep-wake cycle
4. Reduces Stress and Mental Overload
Sleep improves when the mind and body feel safe.
Structured sessions help discharge built-up stress
Breath-led protocols promote calm and presence
Many users report feeling more relaxed, grounded, and ready for sleep
Important Considerations
Avoid high-intensity hypoxic sessions too close to bedtime
Use heat and red light more strategically in the evening for relaxation
Consistency matters more than intensity
The Bottom Line
EXALTxp doesn’t “force” sleep. It trains your body to be able to sleep.
By improving how you handle stress, recover, and regulate your nervous system, you create the internal conditions for deeper, more consistent, and more restorative sleep.
What is EXALTxp infrared heat training and what are its benefits?
EXALTxp Infrared Heat Training is a controlled way to raise your heart rate and cardiovascular load without needing high-impact or high-intensity exercise.
By increasing core temperature, it allows you to achieve a strong training effect at a lower physical workload.
Key Benefits
- Improves cardiovascular fitness
- Raises heart rate with less joint stress
- Supports endurance and recovery (plasma volume expansion)
- Enhances heat tolerance and resilience
You get a powerful physiological stimulus with less strain on the body, making training more efficient and sustainable.
Heat trains delivery. It helps you build cardiovascular capacity and resilience, so you can perform more with less effort.
Why shouldn’t heat and altitude be combined?
Because:
hypoxia reduces the maximum amount of oxygen available for use
heat increases cardiovascular strain
Combined, they:
reduce performance quality
increase fatigue
complicate recovery
Using them separately is more effective.
What is red light therapy and what are its benefits?
Red light therapy (also called photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support your body at a cellular level.
It works by stimulating the mitochondria, your cells’ energy producers helping your body repair, recover, and function more efficiently.
Key Benefits:
- Supports faster recovery after training
- Enhances cellular energy (ATP production)
- Reduces inflammation and muscle soreness
- Promotes tissue repair and healing
- May improve sleep and overall recovery quality
Red light therapy doesn’t replace training it helps your body adapt to it more effectively.
Within the EXALTxp system, it acts as a recovery amplifier, allowing you to:
- recover faster
- train more consistently
- achieve better results over time
Red light therapy supports recovery and cellular function.
It helps your body absorb the benefits of training so you can perform better, with less fatigue.
What is the EXALTxp approach to using simulated altitude, infrared heat, and red light therapy?
The EXALTxp approach is simple: Apply the right stimulus, at the right time, for the right adaptation.
Each modality has a clear and specific role. They are not used interchangeably or stacked indiscriminately.
How It Works
Simulated Altitude (Hypoxia)
Trains oxygen efficiency, endurance, and nervous system regulation under stressInfrared Heat
Builds cardiovascular capacity by raising heart rate at lower physical loadRed Light Therapy
Supports recovery, cellular repair, and adaptation
Why They’re Used Separately
Each creates a different type of stress in the body.
Using them strategically, rather than all at once, allows you to:
target specific adaptations
maintain training quality
recover more effectively
The EXALTxp Difference
Most systems focus on one outcome.
EXALTxp trains the full system:
how you produce energy
how you respond to stress
how you recover and adapt
Heat trains delivery.
Hypoxia trains utilisation.
Recovery drives adaptation.
Together, they create a smarter, more efficient way to train for performance, health, and resilience.
Where can I set up a EXALTxp studio and how much space do I need?
A EXALTxp studio is designed to be far more flexible than a traditional build-out. Our studios are modular and intended for the home, clinic, wellness center, gym, or performance center. Evolve and Ascend are offered in both indoor and outdoor versions, while Transcend is currently only available as an indoor studio. Studios can be installed indoors or, in the case of Evolve and Ascend, as a steel outdoor room, with site-specific installation shaped by access, power, flooring, and environmental conditions.
In practical terms, that means you can set one up in places like a dedicated home gym, a spare commercial tenancy, a clinic treatment and training area, a wellness facility, or an outdoor pad adjacent to an existing building, provided the site can support the required access and electrical setup. Final site readiness depends on factors like ingress and egress, power availability, floor leveling or reinforcement, and for outdoor models, things like a concrete slab or level structural pad, weatherproof power, and appropriate sealing.
How much space do you need?
The right answer depends on which studio you choose.
Studio Evolve is the most compact option and is positioned as “Perfect for home gyms.” Its external footprint is 10’2” / 3,100 mm × 9’4” / 2,844 mm × 8’3” / 2,511 mm, with a floor area of 8.25 m² / 88.8 ft², and it is recommended for up to 3 users.
Studio Ascend is the mid-size option. Its external dimensions are 18’4” × 9’4” × 8’3”, with a floor area of 15.12 m² / 162.7 ft², and it is suitable for up to 6 users.
Studio Transcend is the largest format. Its external dimensions are 18’4” × 18’4” × 8’3”, with a floor area of 30.25 m² / 325.6 ft², and it is recommended for up to 12 users.
The real-world answer
The footprint is the studio size itself, not the total room you should allow for a smooth install and comfortable use. In the real world, you’ll also want enough surrounding clearance for:
- access during delivery and assembly
- door swing and safe entry/exit
- circulation around the unit
- any connected equipment, displays, or training devices
- service access for electrical and environmental systems
We require a site assessment that reviews photos, floor plans, electrical setup, access route, and intended use before finalizing the installation plan.
A simple way to think about it
If you want the most compact home-ready option, Evolve is the obvious fit. If you want a more versatile studio for a clinic, wellness business, or performance setting, Ascend gives you a much larger training footprint without jumping to a full commercial-scale room. If you want a true multi-user flagship space for a gym, recovery center, or performance facility, Transcend is the largest format available.
Bottom line
You can set up a EXALTxp studio in a home, clinic, wellness center, gym, performance facility, or outdoor installation area, as long as the site has the right access, power, and structural readiness. Space needs start at roughly 81.4 ft² for Evolve, 162.7 ft² for Ascend, and 325.6 ft² for Transcend, before allowing extra room for circulation and installation logistics.
Can I use a EXALTxp studio passively or do I need to be active?
Yes, you can use a EXALTxp studio passively, but that’s not where the entire spectrum of potential transformations optimally happen
The most effective value comes from:
- Applying hypoxic stress
- Moving under it
- Regulating your state inside it
EXALTxp isn’t just about exposure, it’s also about conditioning your body and mind to stay calm, efficient, and precise under pressure.
Is a EXALT XP studio suitable for multiple people?
Yes. EXALTxp studios are specifically designed to support multiple users, from family members, small group sessions to full multi-user training environments.
But the experience scales depending on the studio size you choose.
Built for individual use through to group sessions
EXALTxp studios are not just single-user devices. They are modular wellness & performance environments designed for:
Individual sessions

How easy is it to set up and transport a EXALT XP studio?
EXALTxp studios are designed to be surprisingly simple to deploy, especially compared to traditional fixed wellness or training facilities.
At the core of the system is one key idea: Modularity.
Built to be installed, not constructed
Unlike permanent altitude rooms or complex retrofits, EXALTxp studios are:
Modular systems
Delivered as pre-engineered units
Designed for rapid assembly on-site
This means you’re not building from scratch.
You’re installing a complete, integrated environment.
Installations are tailored through a site assessment that reviews:
Space
Power
Ventilation
Access
Compliance requirements
Flat-packable by design
One of the most important features: EXALTxp studios are flat-packable.
This allows them to:
Be transported efficiently
Fit through standard access points (depending on site)
Be deployed in locations where traditional builds would be impractical
Transport: flexible and scalable
Because of their modular construction, EXALTxp studios can be:
Delivered to homes, clinics, gyms, or remote sites
Installed indoors, or as outdoor standalone structures
Relocated if needed (with proper planning and disassembly)
This makes them far more versatile than fixed infrastructure.
Setup: structured and guided
While the system is engineered for efficiency, it’s not a DIY flat-pack.
EXALTxp uses a guided installation process, which typically includes:
Site evaluation
Specification of the right studio size and configuration
Delivery and assembly
Integration of oxygen control systems and equipment
Everything is designed as a complete ecosystem, including:
Hypoxic, IR heat and red light thearpy environment
Monitoring systems
Training equipment
App integration
What determines how easy it is
Setup complexity depends on a few practical factors:
Access (doorways, pathways, delivery route)
Power supply
Flooring or slab requirements (for outdoor installs)
Studio size (Evolve vs Ascend vs Transcend)
Smaller studios (like Evolve) are naturally:
Faster to install
Easier to place in residential settings
Larger studios require:
More space
More planning
But deliver higher capacity and throughput
The EXALTxp advantage
Traditional altitude environments are:
Expensive to build
Fixed in place
Difficult to scale or relocate
EXALTxp flips that model.
You get:
A portable, modular system
Faster deployment
Greater flexibility over time
The bottom line
Setup is streamlined and guided, not complex construction
Studios are modular and flat-packable, making transport efficient
They can be installed in homes, clinics, gyms, or outdoor environments
And with planning, they can be relocated or reconfigured as needed
So instead of building a facility around altitude, you bring altitude to wherever you need it.
How is altitude controlled inside a EXALT XP studio?
EXALTxp simulates altitude by precisely reducing oxygen, using nitrogen.
Instead of changing pressure like real mountains do, EXALTxp uses a method called normobaric hypoxia:
Atmospheric pressure stays the same
Oxygen concentration is reduced
Nitrogen is increased to safely displace oxygen
This recreates the physiological effect of altitude in a controlled, repeatable environment.
How it works
Air at sea level contains:
~20.9% oxygen
~78% nitrogen
Inside a EXALTxp studio:
A medical-grade nitrogen generation system increases nitrogen levels
This lowers the fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO₂)
The environment simulates altitudes ranging from moderate to high elevation
For example:
~17% O₂ ≈ ~1,500 m
~14–15% O₂ ≈ ~3,000 m
~11–12% O₂ ≈ ~4,500–5,000 m
(Millet et al., 2012)
Why nitrogen is used
Nitrogen is:
Inert and non-toxic
Already the dominant gas in the air you breathe
The safest and most widely used method for creating hypoxic environments
By increasing nitrogen, EXALTxp reduces oxygen without introducing harmful gases or chemicals.
Precision and control
EXALTxp studios are engineered for real-time environmental control, including:
Continuous monitoring of oxygen levels
Adjustable altitude settings
Stable, uniform hypoxic conditions throughout the space
This allows for:
Progressive exposure
Session-specific protocols
Individualised training environments
Why this matters
Your body responds to:
Oxygen availability, not elevation itself
Research shows that normobaric hypoxia:
Triggers many of the same physiological adaptations as real altitude
Activates pathways like HIF-1α, which drive oxygen efficiency and cellular adaptation
(Millet et al., 2012; Semenza, 2012)
Safer than real altitude
Because EXALTxp controls the environment:
Exposure is gradual and adjustable
Sessions are time-limited
Users can return to normal oxygen immediately
This reduces the risks associated with:
Rapid ascent
Uncontrolled hypoxic exposure
Altitude sickness
(Millet et al., 2010)
Can I use single-phase power?

EXALT XP for Wellness & Longevity FAQs
What are the benefits of EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness?
The EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness System delivers a wide range of benefits by combining simulated altitude, infrared heat, and red light therapy through the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™.
Physically, it improves cardiovascular efficiency, energy production, recovery, metabolism, and overall performance. It supports longevity and healthspan by enhancing cellular resilience, oxygen utilisation, and adaptive capacity.
Beyond the physical, it trains real-time nervous system regulation, helping you stay calm, focused, and composed under stress. This builds emotional resilience, reduces burnout, and improves how you perform in everyday life.
The result is a more complete approach to health, wellness, performance, and resilience, helping you achieve better results with less effort, in less time.
When practiced consistently, the method drives adaptation across four dimensions:
Physiological
Enhanced cardiovascular and respiratory function

Improved cellular repair and tissue recovery
Better fat metabolism and body composition
Increased anaerobic power, strength, and muscle hypertrophy
Red blood cell and EPO stimulation, plus HIF-1α activation for cellular resilience
Mental
Reduced mental fatigue and sharper clarity
Improved executive function, memory, and decision-making
Increased cognitive flexibility and focus under stress
Better sleep quality and circadian rhythm regulation
Emotional
Real-time emotional regulation and composure
Support for burnout, anxiety, and chronic stress recovery

At its core is the Young Wellness Method™: a structured framework for selecting, sequencing, and dosing environmental inputs to train physiology, nervous system regulation, and composure under pressure. By separating and sequencing these modalities with precision, EXALTxp may support cardiovascular efficiency, energy production, recovery, and emotional resilience.
The result: a more complete, intelligent approach to human adaptation.
Achieve better results, with less effort, in less time.
How does EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness support longevity and healthspan?
EXALTxp is built on a simple idea: Longevity isn’t just about living longer, it’s about functioning better for longer. The system targets the core biological processes that drive aging, resilience, and long-term health.
1. Improves Cellular Energy and Efficiency
At the heart of aging is how well your cells produce energy.
Simulated altitude activates hypoxia-inducible factors (HIF-1α), which regulate adaptation to low oxygen
This stimulates mitochondrial efficiency and biogenesis
Red light therapy supports ATP production and cellular repair
Result: more energy, better cellular function, and reduced biological fatigue
2. Enhances Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health
Strong heart and metabolic systems are key predictors of lifespan.
Hypoxic training improves oxygen utilisation and vascular function
Infrared heat elevates heart rate and mimics cardiovascular training at lower intensity
Improved glucose and fat metabolism supports long-term metabolic health
Result: better cardiovascular fitness, metabolic flexibility, and reduced disease risk
3. Trains the Nervous System to Handle Stress
Chronic stress accelerates aging.
EXALTxp teaches composure under controlled stress
Improves balance between sympathetic (stress) and parasympathetic (recovery) systems
Reduces chronic cortisol load over time
Result: greater resilience, less burnout, and improved overall wellbeing
4. Accelerates Recovery and Reduces Inflammation
Recovery is where longevity is built.
Red light therapy supports tissue repair and reduces inflammation
Hypoxic protocols improve recovery efficiency
Infrared heat enhances circulation and detoxification pathways
Result: faster recovery, less inflammation, and better long-term tissue health
5. Builds Adaptation Capacity
Aging is, in many ways, a loss of adaptability.
Controlled stress (hypoxia and heat) trains your body to respond and recover
This maintains physiological flexibility across multiple systems
Result: a body that stays responsive, capable, and resilient over time
The Bottom Line
EXALTxp supports longevity by improving:
Cellular energy
Cardiovascular and metabolic health
Stress resilience
Recovery and repair
It’s not about avoiding stress, it’s about becoming better at adapting to it. That’s what drives true healthspan.

How Often Should I Use a EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness Studio for Health, Wellness, and Longevity Benefits?
You do not need daily hypoxic exposure to get meaningful health and longevity benefits. For most users, the best balance of stimulus and recovery is likely 2–4 sessions per week, with 3 sessions per week being a strong practical default. The real goal is not maximum exposure. It is maximum adaptation with minimum unnecessary strain. (PMC)
- Start with 2–3 sessions per week
- Build toward 3–4 sessions per week if you are adapting well
- Use higher frequency blocks selectively, not automatically
- Stay consistent for at least 3–6 weeks before judging the effect (PMC)

EXALT XP for Performance Frequently Asked Questions
What is EXALT XP Hypoxic Wellness for Athletic Performance?
EXALTxp Performance uses simulated altitude (normobaric hypoxia) combined with movement, breath control, and recovery to train the body to perform efficiently under stress.
Instead of just increasing output, it trains:
oxygen efficiency
energy production
nervous system control
recovery speed
This approach is built on the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, where performance is defined not by how hard you push, but by how well you adapt.
Science: Hypoxic exposure activates HIF-1α pathways that regulate oxygen delivery, metabolism, and cellular adaptation (Semenza, 2012).
At its core is the Young Wellness Method™: a structured framework for selecting, sequencing, and dosing environmental inputs to train physiology, nervous system regulation, and composure under pressure. By separating and sequencing these modalities with precision, Exalt XP may support cardiovascular efficiency, energy production, recovery, and emotional resilience.
The result: a more complete, intelligent approach to human adaptation.

EXALTxp for Outdoor Adventure Frequently Asked Questions
What is altitude conditioning (aka hypoxic conditioning ) and how does it work?
How will altitude conditioning improve my performance on a high-altitude adventure?
EXALTxp altitude training helps prepare your body before you arrive at elevation by exposing you to controlled low-oxygen conditions in advance.
This can support better acclimatization, improved oxygen efficiency, steadier breathing, faster recovery between efforts, and greater composure under pressure. In practical terms, it helps you move uphill with less strain, carry load more effectively, recover faster, and make better decisions when fatigue and altitude start to take effect.
For ourdoor adventurers, that means less altitude sickness, less fatigue, more control, and better performance when it matters most.
How can I prepare my body for an outdoor adventure at 10,000–16,000+ feet?
The most effective way to prepare for high altitude is to train your body to perform with less oxygen before you arrive.
This involves progressive exposure to low-oxygen environments, combined with movement, breath control, and nervous system regulation. Together, these help your body use oxygen more efficiently, improve endurance under load, and stay calm under stress.
With the right preparation, you can arrive already partially acclimatized, reduce fatigue, recover faster between efforts, and maintain better focus and control in demanding conditions.
In simple terms, it’s not just about getting fitter, it’s about training your body and mind to perform efficiently when oxygen is limited.
What makes EXALTxp different from other simulated altitude systems?
Most altitude systems focus on pushing your body harder. EXALTxp goes further by training both your body and your nervous system to stay calm and composed under stress.
Built around the Young Hypoxic Wellness Method™, EXALTxp combines low-oxygen exposure, controlled movement, and rapid recovery to create a complete adaptation loop. It targets the true “adaptation zone,” where meaningful physiological changes occur, while also prioritizing how quickly you can recover and regulate your breathing and heart rate.
The result is more than just improved endurance. You build resilience, recover faster, think more clearly under pressure, and support your overall health and longevity.
In simple terms, EXALTxp doesn’t just prepare you for altitude. It trains you to perform and recover better in any high-stress environment.
Do I need to live at altitude to get the benefits?
No. You don’t need to relocate to the mountains to experience the benefits of altitude.
EXALTxp uses simulated altitude (normobaric hypoxia) to safely reduce oxygen levels in a controlled environment, triggering the same key adaptations your body would experience at elevation. The difference is you can apply this stimulus with precision, without the added stress of real altitude like poor sleep, dehydration, or prolonged exposure.
Because your body responds to oxygen availability, not location, you can build endurance, improve oxygen efficiency, and enhance resilience right at sea level.
In simple terms, it’s a smarter, more controlled way to get the benefits of altitude without having to live there.
How long before my high altitude adventure should I start altitude training?
Ideally, start altitude training 4–6 weeks before your trip, with 2–4 sessions per week. This gives your body enough time to build meaningful adaptations to low oxygen, so you arrive better prepared and more resilient.
If time is limited, even 2 weeks of training can provide some benefit, helping improve breathing efficiency and partial acclimatization. However, longer and more consistent exposure leads to stronger, more reliable results.
In simple terms, the earlier and more consistently you start, the better your body will perform when it counts.
EXALTxp studios use “normobaric” hypoxia. What does that mean and how does it prevent altitude sickness?
Normobaric hypoxia means reducing the oxygen in the air you breathe while keeping normal air pressure. In a EXALTxp studio, oxygen levels are lowered to simulate altitude, without the added stress of real mountains like pressure changes, cold, or dehydration.
Your body still receives the same adaptive signal, improving oxygen efficiency, energy production, and resilience. But because the exposure is controlled, time-limited, and includes recovery, it avoids the key triggers of altitude sickness such as rapid ascent and prolonged exposure.
In simple terms, you get the benefits of altitude in a safer, more controlled way, helping your body adapt without the risks that typically come with being at elevation.
How often should I use a EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness studio to see results?
Most people see strong results with 2–6 sessions per week, with around 3 sessions weekly being the sweet spot.
EXALTxp follows a simple principle: adaptation comes from the right balance of stress and recovery. More isn’t always better. Training too often can slow progress, while consistent, well-spaced sessions allow your body to adapt, recover, and improve.
A good approach is to start with 2–3 sessions per week and increase only if your recovery, energy, and sleep remain strong.
In simple terms, it’s not about doing more, it’s about applying the right dose consistently and letting your body adapt.
How does altitude conditionining improve stamina when carrying heavy packs uphill?
Altitude conditioning builds stamina by teaching your body to do more with less oxygen. This makes climbing with a heavy pack feel more manageable, as you use less energy for the same effort and recover faster between pushes.
Over time, your body becomes more efficient at delivering and using oxygen, your muscles fatigue more slowly, and your breathing becomes more controlled under stress. You also develop better composure, helping you stay steady and focused on challenging terrain.
In simple terms, altitude conditioning doesn’t just make you fitter, it makes you more efficient, more resilient, and better prepared to handle long, demanding climbs under load.
Will using a EXALTxp Hypoxic Wellness studio help me stay focused and steady for long days?
Yes. EXALTxp helps you stay mentally sharp, emotionally steady, and physically consistent, even during long, demanding days.
By training in low-oxygen conditions, your body and brain become more efficient under stress. This supports better focus, steadier energy, improved breathing, and greater composure when fatigue starts to build.
It also strengthens your nervous system, helping you stay calm, avoid energy crashes, and maintain clear decision-making over time.
In simple terms, it’s not just about endurance, it’s about staying steady, focused, and in control from start to finish.
Oxygen delivery and utilisation improve
Mitochondrial function and energy production increase
Cardiovascular and respiratory efficiency are enhanced
Cellular adaptation pathways (like HIF-1α) are activated
Your nervous system is trained to stay calm and composed under stress
Infrared Heat Training
When your body is exposed to heat, it creates a cardiovascular and thermoregulatory response:
Heart rate increases at lower workloads
Plasma volume expands, improving circulation
Sweating and cooling efficiency improve
Cardiovascular strain builds with less mechanical stress
You develop greater tolerance to sustained physical stress
Red Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)
Red and near-infrared light support recovery and cellular function:
Mitochondrial activity and cellular energy are supported
Muscle recovery and tissue repair are enhanced
Inflammation and soreness may be reduced
Recovery between sessions becomes more efficient
The combined effect
By separating and sequencing these stimuli, EXALTxp trains not just your body, but how your entire system adapts, regulates, and recovers. The result is improved performance, resilience, and energy, along with better focus, emotional control, and overall wellbeing.
Why do high altitude adventurers struggle with elevation even if they are fit?
Because being fit at sea level doesn’t mean your body is adapted to low oxygen.
At altitude, the real challenge isn’t strength or cardio, it’s reduced oxygen availability. As oxygen drops, your muscles, brain, and breathing all have to work differently. Without prior adaptation, even very fit people can fatigue quickly, lose focus, and struggle to perform.
Altitude also places stress on your breathing, energy systems, and nervous system, all at once. If these aren’t trained for low-oxygen conditions, performance can drop fast.
In simple terms, fitness alone isn’t enough. You need to train your body to handle low oxygen if you want to perform well at elevation.
How does altitude affect heart rate and breathing?
At altitude, there’s less oxygen available, so your body has to work harder to get what it needs. That’s why you breathe faster and your heart rate rises, even at rest. It’s not a sign you’re unfit, it’s a normal response to low oxygen.
Your breathing increases to bring in more oxygen, while your heart pumps faster to deliver it to your muscles and brain. Early on, this can feel like shortness of breath and quicker fatigue.
With proper acclimatization or training, your body becomes more efficient. Breathing steadies, heart rate becomes more controlled, and effort feels easier.
In simple terms, your body is adapting. And with the right preparation, these responses become smoother, more efficient, and easier to manage
Can altitude training improve recovery during multi-day adventures at altitude?
Yes. Altitude training can significantly improve how well you recover between long, demanding days.
By exposing your body to controlled low-oxygen stress, it trains your system to recover faster, use energy more efficiently, and stay balanced under pressure. This supports better overnight recovery, reduces fatigue buildup, and helps you maintain consistent performance across multiple days.
It also strengthens your nervous system, allowing you to switch more effectively from effort to recovery, which is critical in challenging environments.
In simple terms, instead of fading as the days go on, you stay stronger, steadier, and better recovered from start to finish.
What altitude should I simulate to prepare?
You don’t need to match your exact target altitude. What matters is applying the right level of hypoxic stress, progressively and consistently, to trigger adaptation.
For most people, this means training within a range of ~3,000–4,500 meters (10,000–15,000 ft), starting lower and gradually increasing as your body adapts.
The key is not pushing too hard too soon. Moderate, repeatable exposure builds stronger and more reliable results than jumping straight to extreme levels.
In simple terms, it’s not about chasing a number. It’s about applying the right dose, progressing over time, and allowing your body to adapt.
How long does altitude adaptation last?
Altitude adaptation isn’t permanent, but it doesn’t disappear overnight.
Most peak benefits last around 2–3 weeks, with some effects continuing for up to 3–6 weeks, depending on your training and consistency. Over time, these adaptations gradually fade if not maintained.
The good news is that some improvements, especially in breathing control and nervous system regulation, can last much longer and become easier to re-activate with continued practice.
In simple terms, altitude adaptation is something you build and maintain. With consistent training, your body becomes faster and more efficient at adapting each time.
